Dallas’ Kappa Tablescapes showcase has quickly become one of my cues for full-on fall over the past several years, as Mom and I have participated by setting a table in collaboration. The gorgeous event is hosted by the KKG Dallas Alumnae Association (though I am a proud Pi Phi, what’s not to love about supporting the community through my favorite past time?!) and takes place at the Dallas Country Club. Dozens of designers and small businesses outfit a table to show off their style or products, making it a prime setting for Mom and I to really toot our own horns!
We first participated back in 2020 when the event was held virtually— each designer submitted photos and videos of their table for all to admire from the comfort of their home. Click here to see our Pagoda Party from that year! I thought in advance of next week’s event, I’d share our look from 2021…
It started with the plates.
Earlier in 2021, Rosanne Beck Collections licensed their blue and white pagoda collection to a melamine manufacturer— when we saw the plates and serving pieces in person at market, we immediately knew it’d make for the most unique setting at KKG Tablescapes. The entire table was then centered around the set, alongside the original blue and white pagoda collection of paper and gift products.
Next came the antique tulipieres… Y’ALL. These were a Round Top, TX find from Marburger Farm on opening day. Every time we antique in Round Top, our crew goes around and says what’s on their wishlist in hopes it catches someone’s eye. When we went down Spring 2021, I was on the hunt for tulipieres, some silver, candlesticks, of course a few new sets of plates, a mirror for my bedroom, what have you. The tulipieres were my very last find of the trip, and I almost bought just one because they were more than I wanted to spend. But the minute someone else came in and tried to buy the other, I promptly jumped in with, “Oh I’ve actually purchased both!” 😂
Picking our palette.
To meld the classic blue and white with the season, we paired the color scheme with what we called Fall Oranges & Peaches. Nothing too pink, nothing too rusty. A good mix of oranges, apricots, deep corals and such. This palette mainly came through in our florals as you can see, but also our chargers, napkins, and stemless wine glasses. Marrying it altogether, we added wicker pagodas as part of our multi-level centerpiece.
All set!
Below is a complete roundup of all the pieces used for our fall chinoiserie look, a perfectly peach-and-blue pagoda party another year! For 2022, we’ve got a design pivot up our sleeve, but you’ll have to wait and see what it is. In the meantime, let us know if you incorporate any part of this look into your next fall soirée!
