It feels good to be writing another Soirée Spotlight, let me tell you! It’s been too long.
This one is extra special for many reasons— mainly that I spent the summer planning this particular soirée for one of my very best friends to celebrate her second child and first baby girl on the way. EEK. For many months, I referred to her belly as Baby Madeleine in hopes she would realize how fabulous it would be to have two Madeleines in our circle. I didn’t win that battle, but Baby Elle is named after someone perhaps more fabulous than me… 💕
Let’s jump right into the details!
Eleven hostesses invited 24 ladies to brunch at Dallas’ Le Bilboquet to toast the mama of honor with copious rosé. Being August in Texas, we most definitely had to depend on a location that would keep guests cool and comfortable, while also feeling festive. The restaurant has a side patio that can be completely enclosed during warm or winter seasons, fully cooled or heated. Yes, please!
One of my favorite Dallas entertaining secrets is that Le Bilboquet allows you to make a reservation for up to 24 guests versus having to commit to a spend value (you do commit to a meal price per person). 24 girls with endless rosé pours would have been easy to reach a minimum anyway, but I so appreciate that Le B accommodates parties wanting to put together something semi-private with approachable terms. Make note!
Time for table talk.
I truly did scheme this tablescape all summer long. I think I started mid-May when designing the invitations and didn’t stop fidgeting my digital moodboard around until the day before the party— not out of character for me. The invitation definitely set the tone and lended a gorgeous color palette to work within. I always like to ask the honoree (bride, mom-to-be, birthday girl, what have you) if there are any colors she’d like me to steer away from. In this case, our honoree preferred blushes and corals over soft pinks, and not too much hot pink. Very doable, and actually what I would prefer myself!
Below is the moodboard I kept in mind while pulling pieces to create this look.
I think we ended up pretty close to the assignment! Not quite as bold as some of the colors in the moodboard, which was intentional. Right now, nothing says Baby to me more than a cute gingham and a well-tied bow, so I of course had to incorporate a bit with our floral blooms everywhere else.
For brunch we served Brioche French Toast and Blueberry Pancakes family-style to start, then each guest selected their entrée. We followed up with the most spectacular strawberry tiered cake from Cade’s Cakes, adorned with carefully layered wafer paper illustrated with the same watercolor florals as the invitation and menu paper pieces. Keep scrolling to see that beauty.
Peruse the list of sources below to borrow a cue or two from this blush brunch!
- Paper table runners from Rosanne Beck Collections
- All crockery, glassware and flatware was provided by Le Bilboquet
- Blush cloud glass chargers rented from BBJ La Tavola
- Peony Pink scalloped edge linen napkins from Fenwick Fields
- All paper pieces custom designed by Rosanne Beck Collections
- Calligraphy by me!
- Flowers by me, too! Can’t believe it— but I knew what I was wanting and was feeling very particular, I priced out from a few vendors and just didn’t have that large of a line item in my budget. I had just purchased a set of eight vintage cocktail glasses on my most recent trip to Round Top, Texas, and they worked perfectly for petite vases down the centerline of my table! I collected flowers from a few different favorite florists around town and removed the shelf in my fridge the day before so I could store all eight arrangements! 😂
- Cake by Cade’s Cakes, customized with the artwork from the invitation and menu, and beyond delicious. I made the executive decision to order strawberry as the flavor (of course just for the aesthetic match) but it turned out to be WILDLY popular at the table.
- Party favors from One Pink Cookie, the most delicious thumbprint cookies you’ll ever taste! If you’re a Dallas gal interested in the entertaining world in the slightest, then you vividly remember the thumbprints of yesteryear from Celebrity Bakery. The One Pink Cookie girls will not disappoint you— they fill the void very well! And you can order the party favor sets pre-packaged with a cute custom sticker.
We can’t wait for sweet Baby Elle to be here so we can keep spoiling her rotten! Be sure and let me know if you try any of these party pieces for your next soirée, or click here to inquire about my “petite party” design services for your next celebration.
