I’ve said it time and time again this month as I’ve teased this tablescape— Halloween is not my holiday. I’ve got a shed full of seasonal decor and we’re well covered for Valentine’s, Easter, general Fall, and Christmas GALORE, but Halloween has just not really ever been my color palette. I like to stick to black and white, maybe some blues, and transition to fall simply and seamlessly the minute after October 31st.
All that to say, this year I was super surprised when inspiration struck for a Halloween tabletop idea I found myself so eager to execute. Hope y’all enjoy this lavender look as much as I enjoyed pulling it together— even sweet Rachel said it was one of her favorites of mine she’s photographed!
It started with the Skeleton Boogey Bucket (that Ruskin absolutely HATES) from the Swoozie’s X Glitterville Dallas Pop Up … I eyed him at their launch event in September where I personalized glittered champagnes as very on-theme party favors. Any direction I’ve ever gone for Halloween has been black + white, so his bright lavender/blush/turquoise accents got my wheels turning.
About a week later I found these buffalo check placemats, then I searched and found these swirly black and white marbled salad plates, and my vision became all the more clear! Popped in some purple, called in a mega favor to my sweet grandmother for some embroidered spidey-napkins (make sure you scroll to see how CUTE those turned out!), raided the shed for extra spider accents, and pulled down my favorite dinner plates and my new custom glassware from a market order this summer. Oh, and of course, snuck out the silver from Mom’s house (shhh).
My favorite extras are probably the candlesticks + tapers … GAH. I’ve checked the Anthropologie site every day to see if I they’re posted yet for y’all to purchase, and they seem to be in-store only! And I seem to have bought out Dallas Northpark, lol. Y’all scooch to your locations to see if you can find them, I love that the bright white is going to be so usable year-round.
